Trader Joe's Beauty Haul
When we were in Portland a few weeks ago, we obviously did a huge grocery shop at Trader Joes on the way back home, and I couldn't help myself but get a few of their beauty products. In the last year I've become way more interested in skin care than make-up, and it's evident by the items that ended up in my basket. Since I've been using them for a few weeks, I feel like I can adequately judge each of these products. I have normal to oily skin, so results might vary for those of you with different skin types.
Good ol' face wash with a very mild scent. Takes off all of my make-up without stripping my skin. Perfect to use after the Facial Oil Cleanser (#5).
Ok, so this one isn't technically skin care...but it's scalp skin care related right? I can never pass up on a good heavy hair conditioner or a mask, because I think I'm still scarred from the experience of bleaching out my hair (would 10/10 do it again if I was made of money to afford the upkeep though). I just love the feeling of having my hair soaked in moisturizing goo! There's something so luxurious about that... I like that this mask doesn't make my hair greasy despite how heavy it is.
This was the first time I've used a hyaluronic serum and I love it! I'm pretty new to the world of serums - I've only tried a vitamin C serum before which did virtually nothing ( I was quite salty about it because I dished out a pretty penny for it - $80 to be precise). This one cost me way less and I can't get enough of it! It makes me feel like one of those girls in a face wash commercial, where the water goes everywhere and the girl looks so fresh. It leaves me feeling like my skin just soaked up all the water like a sponge. I am definitely going to experiment more with serums after I run out of this one, and I would probably repurchase it when I'm back to the States.
This scrub smells like delicious freshly picked blueberries, but it's a bit rough on my skin. I never really notice if my skin is better after a scrub, but it's a nice step in my routine nonethelsess.
I've never tried a facial oil before because I've always had quite oily skin and struggled with acne when I was younger, so using an oil on top of it seemed like a recipe for disaster. However, just recently my skin finally came to its sense and became somewhat normal, and I decided to give a cleansing oil a try. I've been pleasantly surprised at how nice it left my skin feeling. I double cleanse with the Nourish All-in-One Cleanser after the oil, and it seems like these two work very well together for me - I feel moisturized yet not greasy at all.
I'm very happy with my choice of products and the best part is that all of these cost me a total of $30 USD! I love Trader Joe's for it's affordable prices and great quality. Let me know if you have any favourites from TD beauty isle, I'd love to know.
