Born A Bad Seed
There are a few reasons why I love to support local Vancouver brands as much as possible. First of all, buying local means supporting somebody’s dream and helping their small business grow. Secondly, locally designed and made pieces are usually made in smaller quantities, and you won’t end up seeing a million people on the Sky Train wearing the same thing.
My latest local purchase was a cotton cashmere sweater by Born A Bad Seed. I first discovered them on Instagram a couple of years ago and have had basically all of the items in their shop in my cart (side note: do you also add everything to your cart but never actually check out?…I knew it!). I’m slowly working up to saving for these boots, but I decided to start with a basic sweater that goes with literally any other item in my closet. They have a cool retro-biker-girl vibe going on and I was instantly into it. I’m a bit confused why they have no stockists in Vancouver, but all of their items are shipped from here. If you wish to see their stuff up close and personal, I was able to see their booth at East Side Flea last year!
I love love love this sweater as a layering piece for when it gets colder, or solo while the weather is still warm. Now I just have to get those boots…
